Sweet Spot

Transforming organizations to become more economically and environmentally sustainable, socially just, and globally aware.

How do you balance competition and cooperation with other business coaches?

I believe in “coopetition”, and in leveraging each other’s strengths. I work with a large network of coaches in private practice and feel grateful to work with incredible peers and share knowledge as well as experiences together.

How would you like to contribute to that change?

Keep the dialog going!

What do you feel needs to change in the business coaching profession as a whole?

I believe that coaching is not a profession, but a tool used in multiple professions. For example, my profession is leadership development – coaching is one way I do that. We get attached to professionalizing coaching, when I think the challenge is more about educating our clients about leadership and the benefit of having an advocate/witness/ally/thinking partner.

What area of expertise do you enjoy sharing with others?

Leadership, environmental sustainability, and corporate social responsibility are important topics to me. We are all in the dialog of organizational leadership, and our clients all need to be in the question of how to lead their organizations not just through compliance with new environmental regulation or reporting, but in purposeful direction of changing the world for the better.

What is your primary belief about creating success and abundance?

“To accept the truth of who you really are takes nothing short of realization. You have to see the diamond for yourself.” – Genpo Roshi

What does leadership mean to you?

Personal responsibility for something greater than ourselves.

Who is your target market?

Senior executive leadership in organizations that rely on collaboration and innovation.

What do you most wish to gain from spending time with successful business coaches?

Relationships with colleagues working at the same level.

How would you sum up your mission as a business coach?

Supporting leaders to be the change they wish to see in the world.

What kinds of collaborations and co-creations with other coaches appeal to you?

Writing, speaking on panels. Check out my author page here: http://www.filedby.com/author/karlin_sloan/2312746/

How do you believe you could add most value to a community of business coaches?

I am a natural “business matchmaker” and when I see opportunities to connect people I enjoy doing so. I run a large network of coaches worldwide and find that I’m at my best when I’m advocating for a team.
